Review: Celeb - The Celebrity Style Shop

I was contacted by Narelle from Celeb - The Celebrity Style Shop to review a few pieces from her clothing line.

This clothing line takes inspirations from high end designers and celebrities and provides an affordable interpretation of it. I was intrigued by the feminine silhouettes and ladylike style.

I am very grateful to Narelle for being patient with me and understanding my busy work schedule. This review is long overdue!

Alexander McQueen Inspired

Starting off with my favorite piece, this asymmetric zip dress makes me feel so feminine and svelte. Michael also likes this dress ;)
I'm wearing this in a small. It is curve hugging and skin clinging. Double lined with a thick upper fabric.

Britney Spears Inspired

This is my second favorite item. Although singly lined, the fabric is thick. This one isn't as form fitting (I'm wearing a small as well) but still fits well. The ruffles on the shoulder are a little overwhelming but I still like it!

Hayden Panettiere Inspired

Silky material. The belt is from another dress but thought it would go well with the dress. I would definitely recommend wearing a slip underneath this if worn as a dress. Or it can be tucked into a skirt.

Kim Kardashian Inspired

Made of a silky material. I like the cute and drape of this dress. However, the color isn't my taste. I will be doing a giveaway on this dress at some point so keep an eye out for that if you like it!

Modcloth Inspired

I think I would enjoy this dress is it were in my size but I received it in a medium which was a little more roomy than desired. The fabric feels like a thick cotton. I love the retro feel of the dress. This one will also be a part of a giveaway, so stay tuned for it!

Overall, these clothes are extremely well-made with quality-feeling fabric. Of all the items, I would have bought on my own the first dress. I hope you found my review helpful and informative!

Review: FeatherYourself Feather Hair Extensions

I was approached by FeatherYourself to do a review over their do-it-yourself feather extensions.

I personally haven't liked the feather extension trend. It just isn't my style and it wouldn't be very professional for me to wear feathers in my hair. (This is just my own opinion)

However, I was really excited to try out the do-it-yourself feather extensions because I have friends who like feather extensions and will pay over $100 to get them put in at a salon.

I like that if you are on the fence on getting professional feather extensions, FeatherYourself gives you an affordable option to try feather extensions. Also, if you're like me, a young professional, and are unable to wear them on a daily basis but want feather extensions on the weekends, this would be a great option.

I found placing the extensions into my hair very simple. I followed this video and was able to apply the feather extensions after a few tries. The hardest part for me was pulling my hair through the microbead. I only wore it for a few hours and the extensions stayed in place.

Overall, I was impressed by the ease of application. If you've ever been interested in feather extensions but don't want to pay the hefty salon price, I would highly recommend giving FeatherYourself a try! Feathers, microbead and threading tool costs about $40.

I can predict that Essie's Lady Like will be a fall fave for me! This reminds me of Eyeko's Posh nail polish but with more of a mauve tone to it.

Long time no blog... again.

I turned 23 at the end of July. A couple of new changes that have happened are I cut about 4" of my hair off and....

I now own a pair of Christian Louboutin heels :)

Mike bought me the Christian Louboutin Simple 85 Patent Pumps (buy here) at first. I originally wanted the Simple 100s but they were completely unavailable in my size *sad face* I wanted a pair that was fairly practical. However, the Simple 85s are just too short.

I took the Simple 85s out for a "test drive" in Uptown Dallas. My makeup for the night was my Kim K Smokey look.

My outfit: Dress - c/o Hot Miami Styles (old)

I decided that the Simple 85s were not THE shoe for me, especially being my first pair of Loubies. I wanted to have a pair that I adored. Also, the toe box on this pair is super narrow. My feet hurt like no other after the night.

I highly recommend purchasing shoes, especially Louboutins, from Nordstroms. I explained my situation to the salon shoes representative and they exchanged them for another pair (I paid the difference obviously). I decided on the Christian Louboutin New Simple Pump (buy here) and am very satisfied :) Thank you babe!

It's Hot Out

It's been nearly 2 weeks of over 100 degree weather in Dallas. It is HOT out. As you can see from my outfit pics, I was miserable (& the sun was shining right in my eyes... note to self - no pics in that area during mid-afternoon!). Don't mind the face. I really was having a good day!

Dealing with the Negative.

Hi there!

I know some of y'all have noticed my recent 6 month hiatus from YouTube and the blogging community. Not a complete hiatus as I've posted a few things here and there, but definitely not a regular appearance.

I had a little Twitter conversation with another blogger and previous YouTuber about why I wasn't making videos anymore or posting a lot on my blog.

I can't even explain to y'all how many times I have thoughts on various videos I want to make and post or blog entries I'd like to make. But in the end, I lack the motivation. I know exactly where my lack of motivation stems from. Negativity.

Some people don't realize that people who blog or post YouTube videos are real people with feelings. Or these people think that because they're hidden behind a computer screen they can go about putting others down and making something that brings joy to others seem like a wasted effort.

I have a lot of other important things going on in life and don't need the extra negativity to throw me off.

I truly enjoy blogging and creating videos. My field of work leaves little aesthetic outlet so I like to express myself through my blog and YouTube. I admit, I've taken the words of a few mean-spirited people to heart and it just discouraged me from putting myself out on the internet again.

I give myself pep talks and have decided to monitor the comments that are posted to my blog and videos. Since it is my little piece of the internet, I do have the right to allow certain communications and not others. I do think this is a good step in the right direction and gives me a sense of control.

So my fellow bloggers and YouTubers, how do y'all deal with the negativity?

Nighttime Swagger

This past weekend my really good gal pal came in from out of town. It sucks that she moved away for work, but at least she still comes to visit quite a bit! With my hectic work schedule (busy season is not over for me *sigh*) & frugal state of mind, I didn't go out to buy a new outfit for going out. I have been using my budgeted "clothes" money on work items and casual wear.

I've had this dress for quite a while now, from this post last October, that still hasn't seen the light of day. It's not seen the light since the asymmetrical side droops down in the most inappropriate kind of way. Luckily, I bought some Hollywood Magic Tape from a store a few months ago and had the chance to try it out. It worked like a charm!

Also, the nude pumps I'm wearing are from Forever 21 that I bought last year around September-ish that I've NEVER worn! I'm so bad sometimes! So I am determined to "shop" my closet more often! These aren't the nude pump but they'll do (and at a price point of $20, can't beat that for a night out).

I recorded a makeup tutorial on this look so I'll be editing that over the weekend!

Beaches & Birthdays

Hi y'all!

A couple weekends ago, Mike and I took a trip down to the southern part of Texas to enjoy a little beach time. While the beaches in Texas are not as large or pretty as in California, we still had a pretty good time. It was such a short trip, we plan on heading back there in a couple of months.

We had to drop Juicy off at a pet resort. We were so nervous because it was our first time leaving her alone with either Mike or myself to be with her. After looking over the reviews on Yelp, we chose Pet Resort Dallas. They did a great job and we even got to watch her play over monitors. I'd highly recommend them for those in the Dallas area!

Mike found a jellyfish washed ashore!

We chose to spend time at Port Aransas, TX. We had to take a ferry to get to the island, but I think it can be accessed by a highway too. It wasn't a bad time. I had a migraine for a little which wasn't fun but the beach was clean & even allowed dogs on leashes. We're going to bring Juicy down with us the next time.

*Please excuse my weirdo face, only pic we got that showed the bikini well* I have to take a moment to say how IMPRESSED I am with Victoria's Secret customer service. Our trip was extremely unexpected so I ordered a bikini. It arrived 2 days before our trip but it was the wrong bikini and had odd blotches on it. I called them up and they sent me over another top and bottom and sent it over Express mail without an extra charge. I got it the night before we left and just have to mail the other bikini back within 30 days to avoid charges. So impressed!!!

Where Have I Been?

Hey y'all!

Long time no blog! How are y’all doing? I’ve missed y’all so much!

For me, I am finally calming down. I graduated college in December and started my career with one of the Big 4 accounting firms. Basically what I do for a living is ensure that the financial statements and information that companies release are properly reflecting their financial position (aka external auditor). So when I started with the firm, it was during our busy season. Needless to say, it’s been a hectic season. I spend about 6-7 weeks traveling to New Mexico for a client. I got to fly home most weekends except for the last to weekends where I had to stay out there for 15 days. It was definitely a learning experience. I basically lived out of my suitcase for a month and a half. It was so surreal to come home. Home is where the heart is :)

I graduated! I am wearing my Kim K inspired makeup look.

My sister, Ashley, and me. In case y’all didn’t know, I have a sister. She’s 11 months older than me. 10 days out of the year, we’re the “same” age. She lives back in LA with her hubby. I hadn’t seen her in nearly 2 years!

Mike and me in our new but used Honda S2000! He’s been wanting that car for quite a while, so when we got a nice refund from taxes, we helped us it for our down payment. I have to admit, it kinda broke my heart to part with the money. I was hoping to save some, indulge a little, buy more work clothes, etc. But it was worth it. Only thing is when we go out, he wants the top down but HELLO! My hair! & falsies! Haha, y’all understand right?

Out for dinner for a friend’s birthday. I really liked the makeup I put on that night.

- Preparing to take the CPA exam. For any of y'all who have taken the CPA exam, any suggestions for someone just starting out?
- Dental insurance! I'm so excited. I'm in the search for a good orthodontist. I have a consultation later this week for Invisalign. I'm really hoping I can get them rather than metal braces!

I’m taking some PTO tomorrow and Friday, so I am going to film a video or two. Any
suggestions?

What I'm Wearing #10: Fall Style With OTK Boots

Hey y'all!

I tweeted a while back that I was interested in this pair of OTK boots. It was during the Nordies Semi-Annual sale so I got them for around $109 compared to their retail price of $149.

I have been wanting a pair of OTK boots for quite a while. I tried a couple of pairs from Forever 21 but both were returned immediately. They were either too slouchy or the bottom of it looked just plain weird. I tried out a pair from Lulu*s as well and returned it. Ever since Pam featured her flat OTK boots from Bakers, I've been lemming over them!!!

I'm very happy with my purchase. I have pretty meaty/muscular calves (thank you jr high volleyball coach for all those suicides and lunges we did) and they fit just right on my legs. I measured the thickest part of my calf which was about 13.5 inches. I've tried some OTK boots in the store that were so tight, Mikie had to help pry them off my leg -_-

These boots are roomy enough for jeans as well but not so roomy that they just sag. There's a bit of slouching in the ankle, but I don't mind it. I've looked at other pictures of people wearing OTK boots and that seems to be the way to boot is structured. Overall, I'm satisfied for now.

(Can y'all tell I overindulged during Thanksgiving? *sigh* Extra workout time, here I come!)

Our 2 Year Anniversary

Hey y'all!

I've come to cherish my old blog entries... it's kind of like reliving moments in my life, like my blog has become a semi-diary. When I originally started blogging, I did it to share my interest & exploration in makeup, branching off into style and fashion, and bits and pieces of my life. This blog is like another piece of me. Not just a makeup blog. But just my own adventure in life. Though I don't update as much as I'd like, I'm glad to have captured some moments in my life through my blog. Reading old thoughts bring them up again to the present. I'm hoping & planning on writing more. Personal stuff, sometimes venting, and of course makeup and style entries.

Anywhoodles, just a quick blurb into my thoughts at the moment :]

November 21st was Mikie and my 2 year anniversary. As many of you know, I'm still in college (only a little under a month left WOOOOOT). I work and go to school but as y'all may know from experience, college students don't make a huge amount of money. Mikie works hard & has been supporting our lifestyle while I try my best to chip in what I can. I never wanted to be reliant on someone else & moving out of my parent's place before graduating was unexpected but I wouldn't change it if I had it to do over again.

Meeting Mike was unexpected and a blessing. It was so wonderful to meet a person who was my other half. To have someone I wanted to share my life with because I generally am a private person (I've found out the hard way to be very very careful with trusting others). We complement each other so well. Although we come from very different backgrounds, what the other person lacks, the other seems to make up for. Sure, sometimes it's hard & painful but I don't think strong relationships are formed by not dealing with hard times. We have misunderstandings & arguments but in the end, our love hasn't faltered. He's still the rock in my life & I haven't had someone to ground me my whole life.

We've had some amazing and joyful times the past 2 years. We've dealt with a some poopie but sometimes that can't be helped (some shitty people out there...). Life is a learning process & we've definitely learned a lot... Underneath it all, we love and respect one another. We want the best for each other & that's just one thing I love about him. That he's caring, loving and supportive.

At the end of the day, I'm so happy and at peace knowing my best friend will be there for me.

For our anniversary, we decided to keep it low key. With the holidays right around the corner, we didn't have much wiggle room in our budget. But we definitely made the most of it!

Mikie is originally from Fort Worth but he lived in New Hampshire for quite a number of years... this is where his love for all New England teams began. If some of y'all can tell in most pics of him, he's got a thing for the Celtics, Red Sox & Patriots... there's definitely no room in his heart for any Dallas teams (pity pity). He also got a taste for delicious & fresh seafood, namely lobster. From what he tells me, the lobsters up north are huge & sell at a similar price as the dinky ones down here.

We had lobster earlier this year for the 4th of July & since then, I've had a hankering for some! We cooked lobsters at home, which was a delightful treat! It was very low key but we are excited for the upcoming year where we both will be bringing in some good money & we'll be able to do more then :] We're wanting to check out this place in Maine. We plan on going sometime next summer after busy season.

As some of y'all may know through my Twitter, Mike and I are moving next month to a new apartment. I can't gush more about the new place! The property will be a year old in October & the apartment we got has never been lived in. Such a nice upgrade from our townhome right now. Our townhome has been a great home for the past year, but since I'm still in college until December, we needed a place that was within our budget. So the property we live in right now is older & the city we chose to live in isn't very urban. It's more affordable though.

Anywho, I will definitely do a tour when we move in. I will try to record a tour in our current home.... even if I don't post it on YT, it'll be a nice memory :)

Now just FYI on the Missha BB Cream issue, I seriously have tried my best to look on eBay to find it as well as other websites. The only place I've found the bb cream in #31 Golden Beige is the Official Missha Website. I bought mine for only $20 on eBay but since it's not available on there, they're selling it for $30 on the Offical Missha website. I honestly love my bb cream so I think it's worth it.

I hope this helps! I'm studying for an audit exam I have on Wednesday :[ Mike and I are moving to Las Colinas on Friday.... I can't wait for my exam to be over so I can actually be EXCITED! Instead of stressing over my exam.

I'm totally digging high waisted shorts at the moment. These shorts are pretty thick too, so they'll work out during the colder weather!

I normally wear a 7 1/2 in shoes but the Lulu*s website gave a good suggestion stating the flats run a 1/2 size too big. They were spot on! These flats fit me great. 7 1/2 would have been way too big!

I'm So Dirty!

Hey y'all!

A few weeks ago, I tweeted that I was going to be playing mud volleyball.... It was SOOOOO much fun! Needless to say, I got mud in places you wouldn't even want to have mud.... *sideways glance* but it was a fun experience to have! My university holds an annual tournament in the fall. This was my first time playing in it as well as my last opportunity since I graduate in December HALLELUJAH!

Just stepping into the volleyball "court" would instantly sink you in. I was having trouble getting unstuck!

The city water department was there all day long with a huge water hose. Spraying down muddy (and some drunk) college students. I'm sure they must have had such a fun day!

The New Abode

Mike and I will be moving in less than 3 weeks & can't be more excited! We were able to see the new place after we signed our lease. It's a new property in a nice, urban neighborhood and no one has lived in our unit yet! Double bonus!

The kitchen. I love the big island & open concept. Granite topped counters... gorgeous! So much better than our itty bitty kitchen right now. In our current home, Mike and I can't cook or prepare a meal together at the same time. There just isn't enough space! It has lead to a few disgruntled attempts so we are super excited for the new kitchen!

The faucet attachment. Such an upgrade compared to our 1970's sink. I'm actually excited to wash dishes here! Haha... don't tell that to Mike though >_<

Golf Outing

For those of you whose significant other is a golfer, you know my pain. Golf can consume some people! Mike's past time is video games & golf. I decided to take up golf because 1) it'll be good for business (lots of deals go down on the golf course... meeting outside the office if you will) 2) I get to spend time with Mike doing something he loves. He has his golf buddies but sometimes I tag along when the weather is nice enough. It's actually really fun! So ladies, if you can't beat them, join them!

By the way, I am selling the golf shoes in this picture. I have used them 4 times only. I will sell them for $22 which includes shipping. They are in a size 7.5 but fit like a 7. I thought they'd stretch out with wear but they haven't. I end up with pinched toes :[

I've only golfed a handful of times. But I do try :]

What I'm Wearing #7 + FOTD!

Hey y'all!

I wore this outfit a couple weeks ago & wanted to share. I recently made a few purchases from Lulu's & have fallen in love with their clothing! Everything I bought is so well made & the quality is amazing. Their prices are fairly reasonable. I bought a few items from their sale section. The only problem I have is that the fit is just slightly off. I don't consider myself a super skinny person. I think I'm pretty average.

For instance, this romper I am showing y'all was purchased in a small. The measurements on the website made it sound like it would fit perfectly, yet the romper is just a touch more loose (specifically in the waist) than I had expected. I added a belt which made me feel better about it. Too bad they don't have a physical store. Otherwise, I'd be in heaven!

I will do a haul video later but overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. I'm not at all turned off from purchasing from the site again despite the fit issue (unlike Yuna's Closet which I will never purchase from again). I highly recommend Lulu's if you're looking for something high quality & classy!

Hey y'all!

First let me just say hallelujah for having my computer back & working properly! I was besieged by viruses & malware.... dang porn sites.... *I joke I joke!* Thankfully, my IT guy at work was able to clean my computer for me... otherwise I was about to pay a couple hundred dollars (that I'd rather hold onto mind you) to Geek Squad. Anyways, lessoned learned. I think I deserved them since I was snooping into Mike's past again... and the universe interceded & taught me a lesson! I also bought an external hard drive. I almost cried over the thought of losing a few years of pictures and memories!

Anyways... I digress..

Model 21 Lashes

I was kindly sent a few boxes of Model 21 lashes to try out. This particular pair is their #11 lash. I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality. Their lashes are made from human hair & these particular pair are super soft feeling. The come in packages of 10 pairs. The #11 lashes remind me of MAC's #7 lashes.

I'm wearing just some liner on the top lashes.... no liner on my bottom lashes.

Sleek Palette

I recently did a swap haul with a nice girlie from the UK, CStarforth on YouTube. She sent me the Sleek Palette... I'll do a video soon. I'm also wearing a lippie from the UK... Loving it!

MAC Jade Dragon Nail Polish

I bought this polish online from MAC's Nail Trend F/W '10 product launch. I thought a bunch of the colors were super pretty, but decided to buy only one. I'm not a fan of the consistency at all. It's pretty goopie. But I could not say no to this particular color after seeing it on All Lacquered Up's blog. I wish I was better at painting my nails, but I save a lot of money doing it myself. I'm using this ridge filler from Orly that makes my nails white... so you can kinda see the basecoat underneath. Grrr! Overall, the color is just too dang pretty!

A Simple FOTD

This has been my regular face of the day recently. The weather has been soooo humid and nasty (not to mention the ridiculous amounts of flooding and tornadoes in the DFW area). I change up the blush and lippie sometime, but for the most part, this is it!

Eyeko Saucy and Rain Nail Polish

Hey y'all!

I received a couple of nail polishes from Eyeko. I was super excited because this is a UK based brand & I already am in love with another of their products, the graffiti pen.

Overall, the polishes are great! I apply about 2-3 coats of polish because 1 coat isn't opaque enough for my taste. The consistency is just right, not too liquidy & not too thick. I've had bad experiences with other polishes like MAC (too thin) or China Glaze (too thick) so it was nice to use a polish that didn't aggravate me LOL! I do need to find a good base coat because I tend to get bumps on my nails after the polish dries :( Suggestion and recommendations are gladly welcome :)

You can find both the Saucy & Rain polishes here. Even though they are a UK based brand, they do sell worldwide! & the packaging of everything is just TOO cute!!!

Smokey Green Makeup Tutorial: Using Michael Todd Cosmetics and Sedona Lace Palette!

Hi y'all!

I did a smokey green makeup tutorial using some products I received from Michael Todd Cosmetics. They were kind enough to send me a few products. I haven't had the chance to try them all out yet, but once I do, I will make a complete video review :)

Here are the products they sent me:

Eyeshadow Base (compared in size to UDPP)
This base is a little watery compared to UDPP and the consistency is more sticky. After about 7 hours, the mineral shadow creased on me.

Little Duck Key Mineral Shadow
I really like the color, super impressed! This is shimmery green on top of black. It can be a little tricky when applying. I made sure to pat the color on first. I would suggest not dragging the color because the black shadow seems to overwhelm the green shimmer and leave a harsh line.

Champagne Creme Glace and Chocohalic Lipstick
I love the smell of the lipgloss... it smells like wafers. Yummy! This gloss is a nude shade, perfect just on top of a nude lippie for a little extra shine.
The lipstick is nice and creamy. Its more of a matte finish and very opaque. It's pretty close to my natural lip color.

Moccasin Concealer
This concealer is a bit too light on me. I found it works well for brightening my undereye area. It's very creamy. I haven't used it as much as the other products so I will have to get back to y'all on it's coverage later in the review video.

Love Potion Gel Liner
I haven't had the chance to try this out yet. It look really pretty though. More details in the review video later :)

I tried out this look with some of the products when I first received them. Eye makeup is the same as the video, except I didn't wear any falsies. Also, I'm wearing the Chocohalic lipstick instead of a nude lip.

Hi y'all!

I am super behind on blogging. Aghh!

Recently, I have realized that I haven't had a break from school since last summer. No joke. I took classes in the fall, winter (aka Xmas "break"), spring, maymester, and summer. I have my finals for summer next week... I cannot wait to have a little bit of breathing time. The end is in sight! I graduate in December with my BBA in Accounting and will be eligible to sit for the CPA (certified public accountant) exam! Truth be told, I am soooo burned out. I'm trying to pull motivation from anywhere right now >,<

Needless to say, my schedule has been HECTIC. So, I have very little time to edit tutorials. I did an outfit of the day video way back in March that people seemed to like. They're super simple to record and very minimal editing... so I've started doing more of them :) I'm super duper behind so this post is dedicated to my What I'm Wearing videos to catch myself and y'all up to speed!

Btw, I don't consider myself a fashionista at all. My everyday style is simple, flattering, and feminine. I'm not really into loud prints, although I like leopard and giraffe print. Celebs whose style I love are Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, and Vanessa Hudgens.

Geo Tri Color Lenses + Missha BB Cream Review

Hey y'all!

This post is long overdue. Pinky Paradise sent me some Geo Tri Color lenses to try out and I am LOVING them. Also, I had a bunch of questions on my last tutorial about the Missha BB Cream I used, so I will go over that as well :)

Geo Tri Color Lenses

Pinky Paradise sent me some more contact lenses to try out. I really wanted to try out the Geo Tri Color Lenses because I'm not a huge fan of circle lenses. Even though they look pretty nice and give a dolly eye look, they are uncomfortable to wear for more than maybe 5 hours (for me anyways, some people can wear them the whole day).

I wanted to see if maybe using a smaller lens would help and it does! I LOVE Geo Tri Color Lenses now. They are super comfortable. They don't give as much of a wide-eyed dolly effect but they do have an obvious color.

These are the Geo Tri Colors that I've used so far. I have another pair, Geo Tri Color Violet, that I haven't worn yet. So I won't include that one in this post.

So far, these are my favorite. I really like the obvious color it gives my eyes.

Eyeko sent me their purple Graffiti Eyeliner Pen which I am using in this FOTD. This liner pen is AWESOME! I need to buy the other colors... AWESOME lasting powder, fabulous color, and super easy to apply.

Missha BB Cream #31

I heard about this BB cream from Pam. I always heard about bloggers using bb creams, but I didn't think I could ever wear it because I'm tanner than the average Asian lady (because I tan... lol). I was super stoked to hear about this "tan" bb cream from Missha. I bought this on Ebay from seller: newdoctorskin. I believe I bought it for $19.99 with free shipping. He ships from the US so it arrived in 3-4 days. I wear an NC 40-42 in MAC and it seems to work well with me.

As you can see... I wore this shirt a few times in the past few weeks... LAKERS BABY!!! Hehe...

I'm wearing the purple Eyeko Graffiti Eyeliner Pen again with my regualr mascara and liner. The bb cream feels really light and smells yummy, like baby powder :)

For comparison sake, I'm wearing MAC Mineralized Satinfinish Foundation in NC42. It's a bit dark on me but it evens out once I set it with powder. This is my normal face of the day. Easy as pie :)

My "Summer Proof" Makeup

Hey y'all!

This tutorial covers my summer makeup. As the weather changes, we have to adapt what we wear to accommodate the change. It's super hot in Texas so I have to use products that are long-wearing and light. I've been wearing this makeup for about 2-3 weeks & have been very pleased with the long-wearing result. Of course it's not perfect but it lasts a lot longer throughout the day than other looks I've done that last well in fair weather (not blistering heat, like 100 degrees aghhhh!). Sedona Lace Palette FOTDs + US Based Circle Lens!

Hi y'all!

Can it be December already so I can graduate?!?!?! It has been a whole year since I've had a break from school. I took last summer off.... but I've been going straight through since then. Fall semester, wintermester, spring semester, Maymester, and now summer semester... then fall semester again and DONE! With college anyways. Then I start my CPA exam. AGHKJLFJLSKDFJLDSJFIOJDSFO

Btw, do y'all like the new layout I am using? I figured I've had my blog a certain way for years, might as well switch it up with one of the new layouts Blogger provided. I like the wider columns. I've been trying to find out how to do that for a long time, and now it is made easy. I just want my leopard background back... lol

Anywho, as I promised, I will be posting a ton of FOTDs/ mini-reviews today. Bear with me porfaplease! I always take pics of things to share on my blog... I just don't always have the time to post them, ya know?

Sedona Lace 120 Palette

In my last post, I mentioned that I received an eyeshadow palette consisting of 120 colors from Sedona Lace. The one I was sent is out of stock, but they have the second edition of the palette that is in stock. They look pretty much the same besides a few colors are swapped out.

I've had the palette for a better part of a month now. So far, I'm really liking the color range and pigmentation of the shadows. I've noticed that the shimmery colors are more pigmented than the matte ones, but in my experience with shadows, that's been true even for MAC (besides their Matte2 shadows but that's another topic lol). I definitely recommend wearing a base when using these shadows & for an even more vibrant color, wear a colored base underneath.

There are some shadows on the palette, matte ones, that I just COULD NOT work with. Maybe my skin is too dark... I don't know. Some of the matte ones just felt a bit chalky and didn't want to show up on me no matter the amount of packing on I did. I did not try it on wet though, so I may need to try that out. For the majority, they show up really well... and I LOVE the shimmery shadows :)

I don't really wear colorful shadows out and about anymore... it's just not my thing & with the hot weather in Dallas, it feel like too much is on my face. If y'all noticed on my blog sale, I sold a bunch of my colored shadows from MAC. I do have a couple of MAC palettes left, but sold the majority of my colorful shadows since I don't ever use them. I was going to buy a palette of colorful shadows just for fun, like from Coastal Scents or something, but then Sedona Lace contacted me :) So thanks a bunch!!!

A wide range of colors... not too many neutrals but I'm happy with it because I have enough neutral shadows as it is!

Tried out a smokey eye. I applied a black base underneath.

I redid my smokey look except added false lashes & made it a bit darker for a girls night out.

I actually wore this colorful look out. I dunno... not my fave really. I filmed a tutorial for it but deleted it because the lighting was way off. I'm wearing Geo Tri Color Brown lenses from Pinky Paradise.

I used a shimmery purple and pink for this look. I like a softer look for colorful shadows so I actually liked this one.

I'm also wearing my Missha BB Cream No. 31 in this look. Not bad, huh? Not too much of a white cast from the SPF.

G&G Turquoise Circle Lens from MyCircleLens.com

I was contacted by a subscriber on YouTube a couple months ago who had an online store for circle lens. MyCircleLens.com is the one of the few US based circle lens distributors. For the most part, circle lenses can be purchased online, but are sent from Asia. Sunny kindly asked me to try out a couple of lenses. I chose a turquoise pair and brown pair (which I haven't tried out yet).

They don't have the widest of selections, but she is increasing her inventory. If you live in the US or Canada, definitely check them out! I got my lenses in about 3 days.

I really like the G&G Turquoise lenses. They're not extremely large so are comfortable for me to wear. I like the obvious color too!

I'm back to studying now! I have a lot more to post, but that's for another day. More Geo Tri colored lenses to show as well as my BB cream experience & Imomoko.com haul :)

Where In The World?!

Howdy my lovely readers!

Another long hiatus from my blog. But I am proud to tell y'all that I did really good this past semester... made a 3.8 :) I was mad that I didn't get a 4.0 due to one biased professor (89%... WTF ever), but it could have been worse. I also finished my maymester class last Tuesday & start summer semester on Monday. Blah! At least it'll all be over in December!

So what else have I been up to? I'll let the pictures do the talking :)

Golfing with the man. It's only my second time actually golfing on a golf course... even though I work at one. I ordered a set of clubs & plan on learning over the summer... a lot of business is done on a golf course. I can't look like an idiot out there :P

FYI: This is not appropriate golf attire. But I didn't have a colored shirt handy... gotta get a few golf shirts.... but it's okay since we are at my golf course :)

I LOVE the Geo Tri Color lenses. I actually prefer these over circle lens because they're a lot more comfortable to wear. They're only 14.0mm in diameter compared to some circle lens that I have that are 14.5mm or 14.7mm. I can definitely wear these longer than circle lenses. These particular pair are the Geo Tri Color Brown. I have a few other colors which I will showcase in another post.

Trying out the Sedona Lace 120 Palette I was sent to try out and review. I've been wanting to try out one of these types of palettes so was super excited when I received it. I tried out a simple smokey eye before a class. I'll be doing a more in-depth review later on!

Using the Sedona Lace 120 Palette again for a girl's night out look. Made it a lot darker than my usual smokey eye. I really like the pigmentation so far.

I really didn't know what to expect with the pink lens... I mean they're PINK. When PinkyParadise first asked me to show them off, I really didn't know what to think. I thought I'd look scary. Like I'm gonna have pink eyes... pink eye... lol. I really like them though! They definitely surprised me. They're a nice subtle pink and give my eyes a mysterious color. Howdy y'all!

I have lots of requests to do more clothing and fashion videos. I really don't shop very often but I did accumulate a bit of clothing over the past 3 months (tax refund HOLLLLLAAAA). Valentine's Weekend 2010

Hey y'all :)

I hope y'all had a great Valentine's Day (or Single's Awareness Day)! I've had lots of questions about how my Valentine's Day went down.... so I'll share :)

But before I get started, I wanted to say congratulations to my friend, April, for getting engaged last month!!!! I'm so happy for you and Justin :) Check her out, she's such a sweet person!

Onto my Valentine's weekend.... the NBA All-Stars game was held in Dallas this year (which was on Valentine's Day) so traffic in the area was RIDICULOUS!! Mike and I went shopping during the weekend in Dallas (thank you tax refund!) & it was packed. Not fun but I braved the crowds to finally get my man.... Louis! I waited a year to buy him. I was gonna buy him after my internship last year, but I donated the money instead..... so when I got my money from my tax refund, well I HAD to get him :) I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I feel proud when I look at him, knowing I worked my booty off for him.... ahhhhhh accomplishment!

On V-Day weekend (maybe Friday, I don't remember), it snowed yet again in TX! We got around 8" of snow while other parts of the DFW area got a foot of snow! This is sad, but this was the most amount of snow I'd ever seen! I had a blast playing in it!

I'm attempting to make a snow angel while Juicy looks on at my silliness :)

She's so good, still getting her business done :)

Mike and my townhome was without electricity for 36 hours... arghhhh! Thankfully we didn't park the Suzuki under any of these trees... its about to snap from the weight of the snow!

Mike bought me this HUGE Juicy Couture engagement ring keychain... I don't need to carry mace anymore... knock a person out if they try to mug me!

On our way to Northpark Center in Dallas. All-Star banner atop one of the skyscrapers in Downtown.

After shopping, Mike and I had dinner at Kona Grill. If you are ever in the area, try them out. They have delicious sushi as well as steak.... a variety of food to appeal to any craving. My mojito is on the left. It was delicious! Just the right amount of sugar, lime, mint and rum. Not overwhelming in alcohol. I like my drinks tasty, I'm not a fan of straight liquor anymore... getting old :P (drink responsibly, y'all hear?!?!)

My fave sushi roll, spicy tuna with cream cheese.... SO GOOD! We also ordered the spider roll & some other roll with shrimp that I can't remember the name of... their sushi is delicious!
My friend Melissa and her man :) He came down from Canada to visit.

On Valentine's Day, Mike told me I had to get out of the house for a little while. I went to church & when I came home, I found the walls covered in sticky notes :) We have this thing where we write each other little love notes and stick them somewhere where we'll see it when we're not together, like in his work truck. Anyways, that was the meaning behind these :) He used a ladder to get real high up on the walls LOL... these are just a few pictures but literally EVERY wall was covered in notes. My mom thought he was going to propose.... she was real disappointed when she saw these pics on Facebook rather than a ring on my finger... LOL one day ;)

Mike got me roses and we added little diamond looking gems to fill the vase. The card plays "Love Will Keep Us Together" hehe....

Mike got me this bracelet from Tiffanys for my present :)

We had our Valentine's dinner at Five Sixty which is a Wolfgang Puck restaurant. We went later in the week because everything was crazy with the All-Stars game in Dallas. If you're ever in the Dallas area, this is a MUST!

The restaurant is on top of Reunion Tower and rotates slowly so you see the whole DFW area. Absolutely beautiful! And as you can guess, the restaurant is five hundred and sixty feet up :)

Its our second year to go here and I always enjoy the elevator ride :) My dress is from Forever 21. I loved the slight train in the back of the dress... looks like a simple LBD until you turn around :)

The restaurant has an Asian theme to it. I loved the setting!

The chopsticks were lying on a rock... very interesting lol

A complimentary appetizer. Green beans in ponzu sauce with candied walnuts... OMG the walnuts were DELICIOUS!!! Sweet and crunchy but not ridiculously sugary. Yummy!

Me and my mojito. I really didn't like it. Tasted more like alcohol than anything. Couldn't taste much mint, lime or sugar. Not yummy.

Salt & pepper calamari with a jalapeno & pickled ginger vinaigratte. This was so yummy! The calamari was very tender and not greasy.

Mike got the roasted chicken with lapsong sausage fried rice. I was going to order this but he beat me to it LOL

I ordered the Alaskan halibut with Thai shrimp, keffir lime, and pineapple chili sambal. It was very yummy. Truth be told, I didn't see a full shrimp... more like cut up little tiny pieces, maybe 2 or 3 haha.. but the fish was moist and tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Yummm!

I finished my meal with Eiswein (or Ice Wine) which is a VERY sweet dessert wine. I like sweet wines like Riesling... this wine was soooo sweet. I didn't like it at all. But I had to try it out.

For dessert I got the fuji & granny smith apple butterscotch crumble with vanilla bean ice cream. I loved the little crumbles, tasted like shortbread cookies which I <3

Mike got the turtle cheesecake with salted caramel. It was very creamy and delicious. The salted caramel made it even better!

I am gonna share some pics from the holiday season soon. I'm just pooped today. I did some training pretty much all day with a volunteer group that I will be volunteering with during the tax season. The program is called VITA and basically I'm going to be helping low-income people/families with filing their tax returns and without any cost to the person :) I'm really excited because I can actually use knowledge and skills that I have accumulated throughout my college career to help someone..... lovesss that!

These leggings are really form fitting. I like wearing them with all black or another monochromatic color. Definitely great for a night out if you're a little too cold to be bare-legged.

Black Faux Leather Motorcycle Jacket
I am in love with this jacket!!!! I've been looking for a good motorcycle jacket from some time now. It is form-fitting and comfortable. It also keeps me pretty warm!

Black Drape Back Beaded Mini Dress
I knew when I ordered this dress that I would be kinda iffy about it. I love the beading detail but it did seem a little scandalous... but if I think back to a year and half ago, I've worn things similar ;) So I guess its scandalous for me now that I'm more conservative (i.e. in a relationship LOL).. I don't want to get THAT kind of attention anymore.
In any case, I tried wearing the mini dress with leggings (as I mentioned in the video) and I really like the look. I felt a lot more comfy than I would have if I hadn't worn them. And the beading on the back is just too fabbb! And I love the band on the bottom of the dress... it hugs the badonk nicely :P

New Years Eve 2009

Happy New Years Eve Y’all!
I haven’t been able to make a New Years Eve tutorial. After the 4 day weekend, I have been bombarded at work, so I’m exhausted afterwards. I will make a whole post about Christmas and New Years so I can share my experience with y’all :) But that is later…

With the New Year literally right around the corner, I wanted us to reflect on a simple thought. Class. I found this quote on the Internet (I forgot where, but I didn’t come up with it… props to whoever wrote it!) that sums up what I think of a classy person:

“Being classy is not about being stuck up; it is about having style and taking care to be polite to others and to reflect a genuine interest in them. It is also about being confident in yourself.”

I know we all can get caught up in our own lives, our own problems and woes. I know I have! If we all just care a little bit more for those around us, the world would be a much better place.

Let’s stop being catty or hating on this or that person. Let’s start being happy for those who are happy and start attaining our own happiness!

This year has been a year of good and bad experiences and lessons learned. That really is the only way to grow as a person and I am thankful for each of them! And I am thankful for my wonderful man, family and friends. And of course, I am so thankful for the wonderful people and friends I have "met" through blogging and beauty. Y'all are beautiful people inside and out!!!

So here is to another year together :) Happy New Years to y'all! Talk to y'all next year ;)

Hehe... so it snowed on Christmas Eve!!! I haven't seen snow in Texas for at LEAST 2 years (if not more). On Wednesday, it was around 70 degrees... then all of a sudden it started to snow the next day! Truly a Christmas miracle :)
